Glastonbury Town 3

The long awaited derby at Cheddar between the Cheesemen and Glastonbury changed dramatically in the second half after a disappointing opening 45 minutes.
A deserved 1-0 interval lead for Cheddar was to change after the break as the hosts, who led on three occasions, had to settle for a draw against their in-form opponents.
The game failed to ignite in the early stages, but it was Cheddar who lit the fuse first after a terrible mix-up between Brendan Davies and Mark Hambleton. Adam Jones was away down the left, but a brilliant tackle from Damian Wills saved the blushes of the two Glastonbury central defenders.

Edmunds then went close with a low drive that beat Punchard, but also flew inches wide of the far upright.
The Cheesemen eventually broke the deadlock on 42 minutes when Jones crossed from the left and, although Edmunds' initial shot was blocked by the legs of Punchard, Simon Mounsden pounced to score into the empty net.
Glastonbury obviously took heed of a half-time blasting from manager Wayne Bradshaw as the midfield, which had been overrun in the first half, began to show more desire, energy and drive.
Steve Spencer's pace was bringing discomfort to the Cheddar defence and he was heavily involved with his side's equaliser on 61 minutes. A harmless-looking free-kick from Davies was spilled by goalkeeper Matt Cooper and a combination of Spencer and Sam Cullen, who were the first players to react, saw Cullen get the final touch.
Within 30 seconds, Cheddar regained the lead when Edmunds found space through the right channel and he slotted the ball wide of the advancing Punchard and into the far corner of the net.
Within 60 seconds it was the Dollies who scored again as Spencer was hauled down in the box by James Hewlett. Ian Howse stepped up to convert the perfect spot-kick.
Three goals had now been scored in as many minutes, but it was Cheddar who regained the advantage for a third time on 80 minutes. Tim Moody side-stepped a defender before lifting the ball over the head of Punchard and into the roof of the net.
It was Glastonbury, however, who equalised for a third time in the final minute when Paul Whittaker failed to head clear a long kick from inside the Glastonbury half and Spencer picked up the loose ball to fire into the roof of the net from 15 yards.
Cheddar manager Tim Richens said after the game: "It was an entertaining game, but I was disappointed we conceded three goals.
"We showed a lot of character at times, but to lose the lead three times was disappointing." Glastonbury manager Wayne Bradshaw said: "I'm very disappointed with our first-half display, but we improved greatly in the second half and overall a draw was a fair result."

In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
